Mjölnir is a son of the well-known Ómur frá Kvistum (FIZO 8,61) and Hugmynd frá Hvitárholti (FIZO 8,08) – and he brings exactly what you would hope for from this lineage: plenty of tölt, charm and character. He possesses a wonderfully smooth, rhythmic tölt with beautiful variations in speed and flowing movements. His gaits are also clearly defined. Whether for ambitious leisure riders or as a partner in competition, Mjölnir is simply a joy to ride. He is responsive to the aids, very easy to ride, and provides a wonderful riding experience. However, he displays a certain temperament and a love of running, especially out on the trails. Therefore, he needs an experienced, fearless rider who understands him and provides him with confidence. I do not consider him suitable for beginners or children. Mjölnir is a friendly, sensitive horse. He's well-behaved for the farrier and knows going to clinics and competitions. He goes out on trails alone, even if he sometimes encounters little "trolls" – vehicles and tractors are no problem. Since August of this year, Mjölnir has been rubbing his mane and tailhead.
